I met a watchmaker last week, he’s been repairing watches forever, since he was 14. I asked him what made him such a good watchmaker? The answer was simple - time on the bench. Time spent on the backside, repairing watches, after school, after the instructors were no longer available.

Craft appears when there is no one to instruct, walking on dark roads without a navigation map. Long periods spent in isolation perfecting craft gives productivity boosts that the audience then applauds you for.
